ACT Prep. - English (Grammar) Test Practice

Below are some links to websites and activities that will help you practice the skills and content that are covered on the English portion of the ACT.

Verb consistency is a common error in writing (and one that is tested on the ACT English section). Complete at least one of the subject-verb exercises at  www.chompchomp.com/exercises.htm

Another common error in writing (and is on the ACT English section) involves vague pronoun use or inconsistencies involving pronouns.  Go to www.chompchomp.com/exercises.htm and complete at least 1 pronoun exercise from each of the following sections: pronoun agreement, pronoun case, and pronoun reference.  Scroll halfway down the page to find them.

The boxed numbered questions on the English ACT section use question stems and require more time and reading than the "easy" questions that are underlined.  These will ask about author’s purpose, style, tone, organizational structure, word choice and modifiers.  Go to www.chompchomp.com/exercises.htm and complete some of the word choice exercises
